Great Valentine’s / Birthday Celebration

I had a great Valentine’s/ birthday celebration.  It was really a nice event and may have even put some meat on my bony bottom, what with all that I ate. (Prodigious amounts of seafood- honestly-piles of crab legs) Lots of coffee. desserts and talk of my latest published work, languages, books, art.  Life is good tonight- I had some friends over and got some nice presents, though I hadn’t expected anything.  I wish all evenings could be like this, really; warm, convivial, with  pleasant excesses in the areas of food and amusement. As I say, life is good, and it’s at moments like these that I can’t imagine how I could ever think of opting out of life- it all seems somehow happy and in an odd way, endless.
