I’ve finally gotten together a Christmas card design (yes-at this late date) and am busy printing out cards on watercolor paper today. This is the design- New York Snow; snowy, urban and somehow classic-something of the 1950’s “ashcan” school of urban painting is in it. I painted it in a good frame of mind today. Intellectual clarity is at a high point today and I feel creative once again. I’m truly thankful for all of the wonders of medicine- just what we who have disorders would do without them boggles the mind. It is uneasy to think about it when I study my pill organizer, all charged with the week’s worth of antipsychotics, antidepressants and anti-convulsants and realize, to really deep down come to the realization that those tiny objects and their chemistry are all that stand between myself and psychosis. They seem so diminutive to accomplish such a huge, important task. Marni, my soon to be ex-wife is coordinating a time for gifts to be opened on the 25th at the house, so I’m looking forward to Christmas now, now that there is a plan beyond just logistical awkwardness. I gave my girlfriend Lisa (the girl from my gym for those who’ve been reading for a while) a bunch of flowers today- it cheered me up about as much as it did her-they were those sunny colored roses somewhere between pink and golden.

That’s beautiful. I didn’t notice the red and yellow cars at first. May I ask how long it took for you to paint it?
I never thought about medications that way, and yes I do agree, so much power in one small pill, which is why we have to be careful in taking them. Glad you are having a good day
Thanks, It took me about an hour and a half from starting to putting the finishing touches on the painting. I’m very glad you like it. Yes-meds are serious business- not to be taken lightly. Thanks again-it really is a good day! I wish you the happiest of holidays.
Your painting is quite nice…both the colors and in the subtle balance. Your blog looks quite interesting and I’ve bookmarked it to read more later when I have more time. I was happy to find this. Thank you.
May you have a most happy holiday!
Thanks Deb- I love to paint. Have a great holiday!
