Life is looking rather good just now. Most everything is going exceedingly well; I have re-read some of the more heavy going Russian offerings by Dostoevsky and Gogol and have come away refreshed by the modern-ness of the whole experience. They are far better than Hardy but in some ways similar in their use of that singular subtext wherein the sub rosa message is one of conveying that the author lives on the same imperfect, corrupt orb as the rest of us, without ever really saying it. Obama won the election, I’m in good health and am in the process of an amicable divorce from yet another wife-the lark is on the wing, the snail is on it’s thorn and suddenly, all is right in the universe (for the moment, anyway).
